Southern services between Hastings and Ashford International via Rye
Description
Major improvement work is taking place in Ore tunnel over 16 days between Hastings and Ashford International. All lines will be closed throughout between Hastings and Rye, and for part of the time between Rye and Ashford International.
Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 October:
Buses will replace trains between:
Hastings and Ore
Hastings and Rye
Rye and Ashford International.
An amended train service will run between Brighton / Eastbourne and Hastings.
Monday 21 to Friday 25 October:
Buses will replace trains between:
Hastings and Ore
Hastings and Rye
Rye and Ashford International (before 07:30 and after 18:30 each day).
Between 07:30 and 18:30 each day, a limited train service will run between Rye and Ashford International.
An amended train service will run between Lewes and Hastings.
Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October:
Buses will replace trains between:
Hastings and Ore
Hastings and Rye
Rye and Ashford International (before 07:30 and after 18:30)
Between 07:30 and 18:30 a limited train service will run between Rye and Ashford International.
An amended train service will run between Brighton / Eastbourne and Hastings.
Monday 28 October to Saturday 2 November:
Buses will replace trains between:
Hastings and Ore
Hastings and Rye
Rye and Ashford International (before 07:30 and after 18:30 each day).
Between 07:30 and 18:30 each day, a limited train service will run between Rye and Ashford International.
An amended train service will run between Lewes and Hastings.
Sunday 3 November:
Buses will replace trains between:

Hastings and Ashford International
Trains will run to an amended and reduced timetable between Brighton / Lewes / Eastbourne and Hastings.

Background Information:
Major improvement work is taking place in the 1,402 yard (1,282 m) long Ore tunnel. The work will improve the drainage, and repair the lining on the inside of the structure to prevent water seeping through. This will include concrete spraying of the lining of the tunnel, soil and rock nailing, repair of the brickwork and replacement of some of the track through the tunnel.
