Description

Engineering work is taking place in the Redhill area this Sunday, 9 June.

All lines via Redhill will be closed.

We have also now been told about emergency engineering works in the Purley area, closing some lines.

These works have changed some plans for the closure of the Redhill route.

Southern trains between London Victoria and Reigate will not run

Please use alternative trains between London Victoria and Littlehampton or Ore, changing at Purley for replacement buses. These will run between Purley, Redhill and Reigate. The non-stop bus journey between Purley and Redhill takes approximately 27 minutes, and between Redhill and Reigate, approximately 10 minutes. Buses will run every hour on the Reigate route, and more frequently for Redhill.

Southern trains between Redhill and Tonbridge will not run

Buses will replace trains across this route. At Nutfield, buses will serve the Memorial Hall stops on the A25. This is approximately 1 mile north of the station. The bus journey between Redhill and Tonbridge takes approximately 90 minutes. Buses will run every hour.

Southern trains between London Victoria and Portsmouth Harbour will be diverted between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport, and will not call at Redhill

Trains between London Victoria and either Littlehampton or Ore will stop additionally at Purley and Horley. Connecting replacement bus services will run between Purley, Redhill and Horley.

Some buses throughout the day will also call at Coulsdon South and Merstham. There will be two fast buses and two stopping buses every hour.

In the evening, some buses will also call at Earlswood and Salfords.

The bus journey between Purley and Redhill takes approximately 27 minutes, and between Redhill and Horley, approximately 15 minutes. Buses which call at all stations may take a few minutes longer.

Most Thameslink trains which were due to run between London Bridge and Horsham will now only run between Three Bridges and Horsham.

The further changes on this route are taking place due to the emergency engineering works in the Purley area.

Your train is most likely to be affected by these extra changes between 08.00 and 20.00.

Southern trains between London Victoria and either Littlehampton or Ore will stop additionally at Purley and Horley.

Some Thameslink trains between London Bridge and Brighton will stop additionally at Salfords and Horley.

Connecting Southern replacement bus services will run between Purley, Coulsdon South, Merstham, Redhill and Horley, with these stopping buses running twice an hour.

During the day, please use Metrobus services on Route 100 for local "stopping" journeys between Redhill, Earlswood and Salfords. Your ticket will be accepted at no extra cost on these local buses.

In the evening, some buses will also call at Earlswood and Salfords.

Additional Thameslink shuttle services were due to run between London Bridge and Three Bridges via Norwood Junction, East Croydon, Purley, Horley and Gatwick Airport. During the day, these trains will be cancelled.

The further changes on this route are taking place due to the emergency engineering works in the Purley area.

Your train is most likely to be affected by these extra changes between 08.00 and 20.00.

Alternative Southern and Thameslink trains will run on this route, but you may need to wait longer for a train.

The same changes will also apply in the opposite direction on each route.

To help you complete your journey, your ticket will be accepted interchangeably between Southern and Thameslink on the affected routes.

In particular, this means you can use Thameslink tickets on Southern replacement bus services.

Some trains on other routes between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport will run at different times compared to the normal timetable. Also, some early-morning and late-evening trains may run differently to the above plan.
