Description

Engineering work is taking place between Stafford and Crewe, closing various lines.

Avanti West Coast:

An amended service will run, as below:

Saturday:

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Liverpool Lime Street via Alsager.

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Preston via Nuneaton and Alsager. Some of these services will start / terminate at Lancaster or Oxenholme in the morning and evening.

2 trains per hour (in each direction) to / from Birmingham New Street. One service every 2 hours will be extended to Wolverhampton. There are some hours where it will only be possible to run one train in each direction.

2 trains per hour (in each direction) to / from Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke-on-Trent.

North Wales services will only operate between Crewe and Holyhead in both directions.

Sunday:

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Liverpool Lime Street via Alsager.

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Preston via Nuneaton and Alsager. Some of these services will start / terminate at Lancaster or Oxenholme in the morning and evening.

2 trains per hour (in each direction) to / from Birmingham New Street. One service every 2 hours will be extended to Wolverhampton. There are some hours where it will only be possible to run one train in each direction. Some morning services will also run to / from Stafford.

2 trains per hour (in each direction) to / from Manchester Piccadilly via Stoke-on-Trent. A couple of these will run via Wilmslow instead.

North Wales services will only operate between Crewe and Holyhead in both directions.

Monday:

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Liverpool Lime Street via Alsager.

1 train per hour (in each direction) to / from Preston via Nuneaton and Alsager. Some of these services will start / terminate at Lancaster or Oxenholme in the morning and evening.

2 trains per hour (in each direction) to / from Birmingham New Street. One service every 2 hours will be extended to Wolverhampton. There are some hours where it will only be possible to run one train in each direction.

Rail replacement buses will run between Wilmslow and Macclesfield.

Saturday:

The 07:26 Birmingham New Street to Manchester Piccadilly service will divert from Stafford via Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield, calling additionally at both stations.

Sunday:

The 08:26 Manchester Piccadilly to Bournemouth service will divert via Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent to Stafford.

Monday:

The 07:26 Birmingham New Street to Manchester Piccadilly services will divert from Stafford via Stoke-on-Trent and Macclesfield, calling additionally at both stations.

The 17:25 Manchester Piccadilly to Bournemouth service will run via Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent to Stafford.

London Northwestern Railway:

Saturday to Monday:

Trains between Stafford and Crewe (via Stoke-on-Trent) will run as normal.

On Sunday only, a direct replacement bus service will operate between Stafford and Crewe.
