Between Exeter St Davids and Yeovil Junction / Salisbury / London Waterloo

Description

A landslip between Honiton and Axminster means all lines are blocked. As a result of this, trains may be cancelled or revised.

Disruption is expected until the end of service.

A normal service expected to resume on Monday 26 August.

Customer advice:

Trains are currently unable to run between Exeter St Davids and Axminster in both directions.

Network Rail engineers are aiming to complete remedial works by Monday 26 August.

Due to the level of disruption, passengers are encouraged to utilise Great Western Railway services between London Paddington and Exeter St Davids where possible. Please bear in mind that there are cancellations expected on some West of England Great Western Railway routes today, so please check your journey before you travel.

Rail replacement buses are in operation but please do bear in mind that these are limited-timed services throughout the day and are expected to be busy. Your ticket will be accepted for these journeys at no extra cost to yourself.

If you are travelling between London Waterloo and Exeter St Davids, especially between Axminster and Exeter St Davids, you are strongly encouraged to check before you travel. If you have already travelled, please allow extra time for your return journey as you are likely to be delayed and train services are subject to short notice alterations.

Until further notice the following alterations will be necessary:

  • London Waterloo to Exeter St Davids services will terminate at Axminster

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following:

  • Great Western Railway services between Exeter St Davids and London Paddington

  • Great Western Railway services between Basingstoke and Reading, for onward connections to Exeter St Davids

  • Great Western Railway services between Salisbury and Westbury

  • London Underground services between London Paddington and London Waterloo

  • CrossCountry services between Southampton Central and Reading, and between Exeter and Bristol in both directions

South Western Railway have arranged replacement buses to run on the following routes:

  • Between Axminster and Exeter St Davids via all stations
