South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Poole / Weymouth

Description

An obstruction on the track at Christchurch means that all lines are currently closed.

As a result, trains running between Brockenhurst and Bournemouth may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 95 minutes or revised.

Major disruption expected until 20:30.

CrossCountry

CrossCountry have been unable to source road transport between Southampton Central and Bournemouth. Passengers are advised to book their own taxis between Southampton Central and Bournemouth and claim the cost back via the CrossCountry customer relations team (receipts are required).

South Western Railway

To assist you with your journey your ticket will be accepted, at no extra cost to yourself, on the following services:

  • Bluestar bus routes 8, 9, 11 and 12 between Southampton - Millbrook - Redbridge - Totton

  • First Bus route 10 between Weymouth - Upwey - Dorchester

  • Great Western Railway between Westbury / Salisbury and Weymouth

  • Morebus routes 1A, 1B and 1C between Bournemouth - Pokesdown - Christchurch

  • Morebus routes M1 and M2 between Bournemouth - Branksome - Parkstone - Poole

  • Morebus route 40 between Poole and Wareham

South Western Railway have requested road transport to operate between Southampton Central and Bournemouth (in both directions), but this is not yet confirmed.

Due to the level of disruption to journeys, passengers are now able to source their own taxis between Southampton Central and Weymouth, and then claim them back through the South Western Railway website. You will need to provide the following details to make a claim:

  • Your full contact details

  • The time and date of your journey

  • The stations you travelled to and from

  • A detailed description of the series of events that took place

  • Copies of your train ticket/s and taxi receipt
