Description

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Swindon and Didcot Parkway which means all lines are currently closed whilst they complete their work. As a result, trains may be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 13:00.

Customer Advice:

You can use your ticket at no extra cost on:

  • Avanti West Coast via any reasonable route

  • CrossCountry via any reasonable route

  • South Western Railway via any reasonable route

  • Stagecoach on routes:

    • 62: Gloucester (Bus Station), Stroud (Merrywalks), Stonehouse (Elgin Mall),

    • 63: Gloucester (Bus Station), Stroud (Merrywalks)

    • 64: Gloucester (Bus Station), Stonehouse (Elgin Mall), Stroud (Merrywalks),

    • 65: Gloucester (Bus Station), Stonehouse (Elgin Mall), Cam, Dursley, Stroud (Merrywalks)

    • 66: Cheltenham (Promenade), Stroud (Merrywalks)

Replacement road transport will be in place shortly to operate between Didcot Parkway and Swindon.

Additional information:

Trains are unable to divert around the incident as engineering works are taking place between Newbury and Bedwyn.

Customers currently west of Swindon travelling towards London are advised to travel to Birmingham New Street on CrossCountry services to connect with Avanti West Coast services towards London Euston. CrossCountry are also able to run between Birmingham New Street and Reading via Oxford as these lines remain open.

Please note, congestion in the area may mean these services are also delayed.
