Description

Following passengers causing a disturbance on a train between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains may be delayed by up to 30 minutes. This is expected until 05:00.

Customer Advice:

Trains between East Croydon and Gatwick Airport have been delayed by a passenger causing a disturbance on a train at Coulsdon South earlier tonight.

Trains may still be affected in both directions. This is because overnight engineering works are taking place. Trains are due to run alternately in both directions on the same line through Coulsdon South, but because services have been delayed earlier, there may now be some congestion.

Journeys may take around 20-30 minutes longer than usual.

Can you tell me more about the incident?

We have been waiting for the police to attend to a disruptive passenger on a Thameslink service, which was being held at Coulsdon South. They have now detained the person.
