Customer Advice:
Great Northern and Thameslink
All lines have reopned between Welwyn Garden City and Hitchin, however services are still heavily disrupted and short notice cancellations are possible.
This disruption is now also causing delays to services travelling south of London, affecting services across the Thameslink and Great Northern network.
Delay your journey if possible, however if you need to travel you will need to use an alternative route. Journeys times are expected to be extended by at least 60 minutes, so please ensure to allow additional travel time.
If you are travelling from London towards stations between Hitchin and Kings Lynn, we'd strongly advise using Greater Anglia services between London Liverpool Street and Cambridge, and changing there for shuttle services towards Hitchin and Kings Lynn/Ely. You can also change at Cambridge for services to Ely, and change there for alternative services to Peterborough.
If you are travelling to/from Hatfield, Welwyn Garden City, Welwyn North, Knebworth, Stevenage or Hitchin, we'd advise you use local bus routes to and from stations between London St Pancras International and Luton to complete your journey this evening. Tickets will be accepted on Thameslink services between London St Pancras International, St Albans, Luton and Bedford.
You can check on your service using the live route map here.
Great Northern and Thameslink have requested rail replacement buses, however these are expected to be extremely limited.
