Description

A broken down train at Huntingdon means some lines towards London are blocked. As a result of this, Thameslink trains running from Peterborough towards London are unable to call at Huntingdon.

Disruption is expected until approximately 13:30.

Customer advice:

Thameslink services from Peterborough towards London and Horsham are unable to call at Huntingdon.

Trains in the opposite direction can still call, heading towards Peterborough.

If you are travelling from Huntingdon towards London and Horsham:

Please take a train to Peterborough first, and change for trains heading in the correct direction. Your ticket will be accepted on Thameslink services, and also on LNER services between Peterborough, Stevenage and London Kings Cross.

Please leave at least 30 minutes of extra time for your journey.

If you are travelling from Peterborough towards Huntingdon:

Please continue to St Neots and change there for trains in the opposite direction.

Please leave at least 30 minutes of extra time for your journey.

A train has broken down at Huntingdon Platform 2, blocking the line used by trains serving this station in the southbound direction, towards London and Horsham. The faulty train can be bypassed on another line, but the other line does not have a platform.

Thameslink are working with the operator of the defective train to get the issue resolved as quickly as possible. A "rescue" train is now attending to tow away the failed one.
