Description

Lines have now reopened following a safety inspection of the track between Blackheath and Lewisham.

While service recovers, trains running between Dartford and Lewisham via Bexleyheath may be still cancelled, delayed by up to 45 minutes or diverted via Sidcup.

This is expected until the end of the day.

What's happened?

A safety inspection was carried out of the track near Lewisham, following reports of smoke coming from a train which affected the Bexleyheath line.

The line was closed but has now reopened.
