Description

Following a trespass incident at Stockport all lines have reopened. As service recovers, trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted.

Disruption is expected until 21:00.

Avanti West Coast customer advice:

You may use your ticket on the following services via any reasonable route:

  • CrossCountry

  • Northern

  • Transport For Wales

East Midlands Railway customer advice:

You can travel with TransPennine Express and CrossCountry between Sheffield and Leeds where you can connect with TransPennine Express and Northern services between Leeds and Liverpool / Manchester.

Alternatively, you can use Northern and CrossCountry services between Nottingham and Sheffield to connect with onward services towards Liverpool.

If you are travelling towards Norwich, you can use LNER services between Leeds and Peterborough where you can connect with East Midlands Railway services to Norwich.

All of these journeys are also available in reverse.

Northern customer advice:

You can use your ticket on the following alternatives:

  • Manchester Metrolink services between Manchester Piccadilly and Altrincham

  • Transport for Wales services via any reasonable route

A coach operated by Bestway will depart Manchester Piccadilly at 18:10 calling all stations to Buxton.

A coach operated by Atlantic Travel will depart Stockport at 18:15 calling all stations to Buxton.

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
