Description

A fault with the signalling system in the New Cross area is causing major disruption to journeys running between London Cannon Street / London Charing Cross and New Cross. As a result, trains may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised.

Major disruption is expected until 14:30.

What's happened?

A signalling fault at New Cross is causing delays to services in and out of London Cannon Street and London Charing Cross. Response staff from Network Rail have been able to reopen most of the affected lines, but some trains from London Charing Cross to Lewisham will be unable to stop at Lewisham until the fault is fixed.

How does this affect my journey?

Services to and from London Cannon Street and London Charing Cross will be subject to severe delays with some trains being delayed by up to an hour. Trains on all routes likely to be subject to alterations, cancellations.

The following routes are being amended:

  • Hayes Line: Trains from London Charing Cross towards Hayes are unable to stop at Lewisham

  • Sidcup Line: Trains from London Charing Cross to Dartford via Sidcup cannot stop at Lewisham

  • Grove Park Line: Trains from London Charing Cross to Sevenoaks cannot stop at Lewisham

These alterations only affect trains leaving London. Trains towards London are now able to stop normally at Lewisham.

What should I do?

Allow extra time to make your journey and use our journey planner for the latest information. If your train is unable to stop at Lewisham, you can change at Hither Green or Ladywell for a train back to Lewisham.
