Description
A fault with the signalling system between York and Darlington / Middlesbrough means that all lines are closed. Trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 15:00.
Customer advice
Network Rail Engineers are on site and are working to rectify the fault.

Rail replacement has been requested and will operate between the following services:
Northallerton and Middlesbrough
Darlington and Middlesbrough
York and Saltburn

When services resume customers may travel on Northern services between Thornaby and Saltburn.

Effect on service:
Trains are unable to run between Middlesbrough and Darlington in both directions.
Trains are unable to run between Middlesbrough and Sunderland via Hartlepool in both directions.

TransPennine Express via any reasonable route
Tyne & Wear Metro services via any reasonable route
LNER between York and Darlington / Newcastle
