Northern services across north west England

Description

Due to train crew being unavailable, short notice cancellations are expected on Northern services in the north west today. Please check before you travel.

You are strongly advised not to travel on the following routes:

  • Clitheroe - Manchester Victoria

  • Blackburn - Manchester Victoria via Todmorden

  • Blackpool North - Wigan North Western

  • Southport - Manchester Victoria

  • Wigan North Western - Stalybridge

  • Chester - Manchester Victoria

A reduced service is expected to operate on the following routes:

  • Carlisle - Lancaster

  • Wigan North Western.- Liverpool Lime Street

Alternative travel will not be available for any of the routes listed above.

Other services in and around the north west may be subject to disruption and very short notice cancellation.

You are encouraged to plan ahead and check your journey before travelling, particularly last trains of the day, as they may be earlier than usual or cancelled at short notice.

Ticket acceptance:

To help you on your journey, you can use your ticket on the following alternatives at no additional cost.

  • TransPennine Express via any reasonable route

  • Transport for Wales via any reasonable route
