Northern routes in the north west

Description

A shortage of train crew across the Northern network means some routes in the north west will be cancelled at short notice on Sunday 15 September.

You are strongly advised to plan ahead and check your journey in full before travelling.

Do not travel on the following routes:

  • Stalybridge – Manchester Victoria

  • Manchester Piccadilly – Chester

  • Manchester Piccadilly – Stoke-on-Trent

Trains will be subject to on the day disruption and cancellations, particularly last trains of the day which may be earlier than usual.

If you do travel, please leave yourself plenty of time to do so and don't rely on last services.

Trains currently showing may not run. Customer control teams are working to update the train plan but you should check closer to the time of travel.

Refunds:

If you purchased your ticket through Northern, and you decide not to travel, you can claim a full refund for your unused ticket here.

The Journey Planner is not yet showing correctly for Sunday 15 September. Please check back closer to the time of travel.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
