Description

All lines have reopened following earlier flooding between Wigan Wallgate and Southport. Trains between these stations may continue to be cancelled, delayed by up to 20 minutes or revised.

Disruption is expected until 17:45.

Customer advice:

You may use your ticket onboard Merseyrail services between Liverpool Lime Street and Southport at no extra cost. Onward connections can be made from Liverpool Lime Street to Wigan North Western.

Rail replacement transport will operate as follows:

  • Wigan Wallgate at 17:00 calling Gathurst, Appley Bridge, Parbold, Burscough Bridge, Meols Cop and Southport

  • Southport at 17:30 calling Meols Cop, Burscough Bridge, Parbold, Appley Bridge, Gathurst and Wigan Wallgate

Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
