Between Huddersfield and Sheffield

Description

A landslip in the Huddersfield area means that all lines are closed between Huddersfield and Penistone. Trains running between these stations will be cancelled or revised to terminate / start at Penistone.

Disruption is expected until until the end of the day.

Customer advice

Network Rail engineers are on site.

Alternative travel suggestions:

You may travel between Sheffield and Huddersfield via Leeds on alternative Northern services to complete your journey.

You may also use your ticket on TransPennine Express services between Leeds and Huddersfield.

Any ticket restrictions have been lifted during this disruption.

Replacement transport:

Road transport will run as follows:

  • 17:20 at Penistone, calling at all stations to Huddersfield. Operated by Wyatts (1x minibus)

  • 17:25 Huddersfield, all stations to Penistone. Operated by Mayfair (1x minibus)

  • 18:15 Barnsley, all stations to Huddersfield. Operated by Elite (1x minibus)

Journey times may be extended by up to 60 minutes whilst travelling by road transport.
