Description

The Met Office have issued a yellow and amber weather warning for heavy rain in parts of England and Wales today.

Extreme weather impact:

The forecasted weather may cause trains to be disrupted:

  • Heavy rainfall can cause flooding that results in tracks being underwater and embankments being damaged, causing potential landslips

  • Flooding can affect points and signalling equipment, which allow trains to move from one line to another

Advice for customers:

Please check before you travel and allow more time for your journey on affected days. Speed restrictions may be in place which can cause delays and cancellations.
