Description

A shortage of train crew across the Northern North West and Central regions means fewer trains are able to run on some routes. As a result of this, trains may be cancelled.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer advice:

The following routes will be affected:

• Between Lancaster and Morecambe

• Between Blackpool North and Liverpool Lime Street (these services will operate between Wigan North Western and Liverpool Lime Street only)

• Between Manchester Oxford Road and Liverpool Lime Street

• Between Manchester Piccadilly and Crewe

• Between Manchester Piccadilly and Hadfield

• Between Manchester Piccadilly and Sheffield (these services are also affected by ongoing repairs to the track, more information can be seen here)

• Between Manchester Victoria and Blackburn

• Between Manchester Victoria and Southport

• Between Manchester Victoria and Stalybridge

• Between Preston and Blackpool South

Ticket restrictions have been lifted to allow any Northern tickets to travel on any alternative Northern services.

Some trains may be replaced by road transport. More information will be provided once more is known.
