Between Bletchley and Bedford

Description

Urgent repairs to the track are needed between Bletchley and Bedford. However, due to heavy rain in the area causing flooding on the railway, Network Rail are currently unable to carry out this work.

As a result of this, all train services have been cancelled.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day Sunday 29 September.

Additional information:

On Monday 23 September, severe flooding to several areas along the route has meant that several pieces of infrastructure have become submerged underwater. Work is required to repair the track in order to be able to reopen the line, but due to the amount of rainfall, it is currently unsafe for Network Rail staff to carry out this work.

The current estimate for the reopening of the line is Monday 30 September.
