East Midlands Railway between Sheffield and Leicester / London St Pancras International, and also between Matlock and Nottingham

Description

Lines have now reopened following a points failure between Derby and Nottingham / Loughborough. However, whilst service recovers, trains running between these stations may still be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled.

Disruption is expected until 11:00.

How does this affect my train?

Trains running through the area now able to run between Nottingham and Derby and also between East Midlands Parkway and Derby in both directions.

Priority now will be to get trains running to their advertised times again. We expect advertised timetables to resume on the affected routes by 11:00.

How do I get where I need to be?

Trains are likely to experience extended delays or alterations.

You may travel via the following alternative routes which will extend journey times by up to 60 minutes:

  • LNER between London Kings Cross and Doncaster

  • TransPennine Express and Northern between Doncaster and Sheffield

  • Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway between London Euston and Birmingham New Street

  • CrossCountry on any route

You may also use your ticket via Tamworth if you are travelling to/from Crewe and also on West Midlands Railway between Stoke-on-Trent and Crewe.

If you hold an ‘Advance Ticket’ which is usually valid on a specific train you may use it to travel on any East Midlands Railway trains on this route.
