CrossCountry between Manchester Piccadilly and Southampton Airport Parkway

London Northwestern Railway between Crewe and Stafford / London Euston, and also between Liverpool Lime Street and Birmingham New Street

Description

All lines have reopened following the emergency services dealing with an incident in the Stafford area. Trains may still be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes or revised as service recovers.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Advice for Avanti West Coast customers:

You may use your ticket at no extra cost on the following:

  • Northern services via any reasonable route

  • London Northwestern Railway / West Midlands Railway via any reasonable route

Advice for CrossCountry customers:

Trains will not call / stop at Stafford and Wolverhampton. Some trains may divert via Nuneaton and the Trent Valley lines.

  • Avanti West Coast between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston

  • Chiltern Railways via any reasonable route

  • Great Western Railway between London Paddington and Basingstoke

  • Northern between Manchester Piccadilly and Stoke-on-Trent

  • South Western Railway between London Waterloo and Southampton Airport Parkway for bus connections towards Southampton Central and Bournemouth

  • West Midlands Railway via any reasonable route, and London Northwestern Railway between Manchester Piccadilly and London Euston

  • London Underground via any reasonable route (for connections with other operators)

Advice for London Northwestern Railway customers:

Replacement road transport will run from Crewe, Stafford, Nuneaton and Wolverhampton.
