Description

A shortage of available train crew on the Thameslink network means fewer services are able to run on some routes. Trains may be cancelled or revised with services running less frequently than usual.

This is expected to continue until the end of the day on Saturday 14 September.

Customer advice:

Your journey on Thameslink services may be disrupted by shortages of train crew.

Friday, 13 September:

Journey planners are up to date with cancellations and changes to services, and we recommend that you check before you travel.

Some overnight cancellations are expected. Where possible, please travel using an alternative service instead, either earlier or later.

Saturday, 14 September:

If you had been planning to travel on the route between Peterborough, London and Horsham, there will be changes to trains on this route. They will not run across London, so you may need to change trains to complete your journey.

Services will run less frequently than usual.

We expect journey planners will be up-to-date from Friday morning with service information for Saturday, and we will update this message when we have confirmed the changes are made.

Peterborough - Stevenage:

Trains will run hourly, rather than the usual half-hourly service. You will need to change at Stevenage to connect with alternative services between Stevenage and London. This means there will be no direct trains between Huntingdon, St Neots, Sandy, Biggleswade or Arlesey and London.

London Bridge - Horsham via Redhill:

Trains will run hourly, rather than the usual half-hourly service.

Evening journeys:

We would recommend you travel earlier where possible, and do not rely on the last services advertised, as they may be cancelled at short notice. If you can plan your journey to travel earlier in the evening, then we would encourage you to do so.

Alternative journey options:

To assist you on Saturday, you will be able to use your ticket at no extra cost on:

• Southern and alternative Thameslink services between Horsham, Gatwick Airport, Redhill, East Croydon and London terminals

• Alternative Thameslink and Great Northern services between Stevenage and London
