Description
A shortage of train crew means services across the Thameslink network will be disrupted. As a result, trains may be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected from 22:30 this evening until 04:00 on Friday 4 October.
Customer Advice
A shortage of available train crew will disrupt a number of Thameslink services tonight and early hours of Friday morning.
This will particularly affect the route between Bedford, Central London and Three Bridges / Brighton, in both directions.
This includes trains via Luton Airport, London St Pancras International and Gatwick Airport.
Southern services will not be impacted but if you are travelling and require connecting trains, please check your journey ahead of travelling.
Alternative public transport routes are very limited overnight, so Thameslink have requested a number of replacement buses, which are currently being confirmed by suppliers. Once supplied they will be advertised on nationalrail.co.uk
These will still only provide limited capacity compared to the trains which usually run.
We recommend you check a journey planner and travel at times when trains are shown to be running.
If you do need to travel by bus, we expect you will need to allow at least 45-60 minutes of extra journey time.
We will provide further updates here, when we can.
