Description

A fire near the railway in the Tipton area means fewer trains are able to run on all lines. As a result, trains between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 minutes or diverted.

Major disruption is expected until the end of the day.

A limited rail replacement bus service will run between Stafford and Wolverhampton and also between Birmingham New Street and Stafford (not calling at Wolverhampton).

London Northwestern Railway / West Midlands Railway

To assist with your journey, you may use your ticket on the following:

Rail replacement buses are in operation between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, and between Stafford and Crewe via Stoke-on-Trent.

Transport for Wales

Limited replacement road transport is operating between Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury. These will not run to booked times but will shuttle between stations.

Customers travelling between Wolverhampton and Birmingham New Street can travel on West Midlands Metro at no extra cost.

Customers travelling from Shrewsbury to Birmingham New Street can go via Hereford where they can use their ticket with West Midlands Railway between Hereford and Birmingham New Street.
