Description

The emergency services are dealing with an incident between Plymouth and Totnes. Whilst they attend to the scene, all lines are currently closed.

Trains running between Plymouth and Exeter St Davids may be cancelled, severely delayed by up to 60 minutes or revised as a result.

Major disruption is expected until 14:00.

You may use your ticket on Great Western Railway via any reasonable route at no extra cost to help with your journey. Please note, these services are also affected.

Advice for Great Western Railway customers:

Some trains will be revised, only completing parts of their normal journeys. If you are able to find your own alternative means to travel between Plymouth and Newton Abbot / Exeter St Davids, you are strongly advised to.

To help you complete your journey you may use your ticket, at no extra cost, on the following operators:

  • CrossCountry between Plymouth and Bristol Temple Meads (Please note, these services are also experiencing disruption).

  • GoCornwall routes:

    • 21 between St Austell and Newquay

    • 25 between Par, St Austell and Newquay.

  • South Western Railway between Exeter St Davids and London Waterloo

  • Stagecoach bus route GOLD between Plymouth, Ivybridge, Totnes and Paignton

  • Stagecoach bus route 88 between Totnes and Newton Abbot (town centre)

  • First Kernow routes:

    • U1/U1A between Truro station and Falmouth Docks

    • U2 between Falmouth and Redruth

    • T1 between Penzance and Truro

    • T2 between St Ives and Truro

Rail replacement coaches have been requested to run in both directions between Plymouth, Ivybridge, Totnes and Newton Abbot. However, these are difficult to recruit as there is limited availability in the area.
