Various West Midlands Railway routes

Description

A lack of available traincrew at key locations means trains on the West Midlands Railway network will be disrupted this weekend, this is following a recent spike in short term sickness absence.

This will particularly impact afternoon and evening services on Saturday and earlier morning services on Sunday.

You are advised to check your journey on the morning of travel to see if your services are affected.

Which services will be affected?

Train services are likely to be disrupted on all West Midlands Railway routes, however the following routes will be significantly impacted with cancellations:

  • Birmingham New Street - Shrewsbury

  • Nuneaton - Leamington Spa

  • Birmingham New Street - Northampton

  • Lichfield Trent Valley - Bromsgrove

  • Four Oaks - Redditch

Alternative Travel Advice

Rail replacement buses have been ordered to supplement the train service, however rail replacement bus capacity will be limited and journey times significantly extended compared to if a full train service was able to operate.

Check before you travel:

West Midlands Railway resourcing teams will continue to work to provide cover for trains where possible, journey planners will be updated overnight for the following day to confirm which services are cancelled / affected. For journeys tomorrow, Saturday 6 July, please check back tomorrow morning.

Compensation:

You may be entitled to compensation if you experience a delay in completing your journey today. Please keep your train ticket and make a note of your journey, as both will be required to support any claim.
