The following terms and conditions apply to this type of ticket. Please note that some tickets have restrictions on the days or times you can travel. Please check before you travel.

Description

Child Flat Fares are available for most Standard Class Off-Peak journeys (not including those wholly within London Zones 1-9), on Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink services for £2.00.

They are also available on:

  • Most Southeastern journeys for £1.00 (not including journeys wholly within London Zones 1-9)

  • Greater Anglia on Whittlesford - London and Shelford - London for £2.00

Child Flat Fare tickets are not valid:

  • For use by unaccompanied children.

  • In First Class accommodation.

  • On other operators services.

The £2 ticket is only valid when travelling with an adult in Standard Class at Off-Peak times, who has a Advance, Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak, Flexi Season Ticket, Season Ticket, or other travel pass valid for that journey.

The Off-Peak times are determined by the time-of-day restrictions applicable to the adult Standard Class Off-Peak Day Return ticket for that particular journey.

This applies whether the adult holds an Anytime, Flexi Season Ticket, Season Ticket, or other travel pass that doesn't have any time restrictions.

There are additional time restrictions where the adult holds an Advance or Super Off-Peak ticket, as explained below:

  • Advance tickets, the £2 ticket can only be used on the same train shown on the adults ticket or reservation coupon.

  • Super Off-Peak tickets, the £2 ticket has the same time restrictions as the adults ticket.

The £2 ticket is only valid for travel in Standard Class accommodation, even if the adult has a valid First Class ticket.

Pre-booking Requirement

Outward Journey

Day Of Travel

The £2 ticket is only valid when travelling with an adult in Standard Class at Off-Peak times, who has a Advance, Anytime, Off-Peak, Super Off-Peak, Flexi Season Ticket, Season Ticket, or other travel pass valid for that journey.

The Off-Peak times are determined by the time-of-day restrictions applicable to the adult Standard Class Off-Peak Day Return ticket for that particular journey.

This applies whether the adult holds an Anytime, Flexi Season Ticket, Season Ticket, or other travel pass that doesn't have any time restrictions.
