Our Summer Sale offers Promo Advance tickets, for selected journeys across the Great Northern, Southern and Thameslink network.

These tickets will be available to buy in limited numbers from Tuesday 6 until Monday 19 August 2024.

For travel between Tuesday 20 August and Tuesday 3 September 2024.

Details

Our Summer Sale Promo Advance tickets are single (one-way) tickets for travel on a specific train for a journey listed on the right in Standard Class.

Promo Advance tickets will be available to buy at Ticket Offices as well as online from Tuesday 6 August until Monday 19 August 2024.

For travel between Tuesday 20 August and Tuesday 3 September 2024.

There are a limited number of tickets available across the promotional routes and are subject to availability.

Tickets must be bought at least 3 days before the date of travel.

There are no discounts for Railcard or other discount card holders.

Terms & Conditions

Promo Advance tickets are ONLY valid:

  • On the date and train service(s) shown on the ticket(s) or separate reservation coupon(s).

You will be treated as not having a valid ticket, if you travel on a different service than the one shown on your ticket / reservation coupon.

  • For the journey from the origin station to the destination station shown on your ticket

They’re not valid to start or finish your journey at any other station en route.

They’re only valid at an intermediate station to change to / from connecting services that are shown on your ticket(s) or valid travel itinerary.

They’re not valid for travel:

  • In First Class accommodation.

  • On Gatwick Express services or on any other operators’ services.

Promo Advance tickets are not refundable.

Unless the reason for the refund is covered by Condition 30.1 of the National Rail Conditions of Travel.

In which case you are entitled to a full refund of your ticket.

The travel date and / or time of travel of a Promo Advance ticket can be changed.

But you will need to pay the difference between the price paid and cost of the next suitable fare for your new journey, plus an administration fee of £10 per person, per single ticket for each change to a journey.

If you change to a train on which a cheaper fare is available, the difference will not be refunded.
