Travelling in May? Be in the know before you go
The next Early May Bank Holiday weekend will be from Saturday 3 May to Monday 5 May 2025, and the next Late May (Spring) Bank Holiday weekend will be from Saturday 24 May to Monday 26 May 2025. This travel summary page will start being updated approximately 12 weeks prior to those dates. We look forward to your return visit then.
Early May (or May Day) Bank Holiday weekend runs from Saturday 3 May to Monday 5 May 2025.
Late May (or Spring) Bank Holiday weekend runs from Saturday 24 May to Monday 26 May 2025.
Some train services will be affected during bank holiday weekends as we work to improve the railway. Some train companies will also be making changes to their timetable, and to some train times, to match services to the number of customers travelling.
So be in the know before you go. Please check before you travel and use the Journey Planner to see if your journey is affected and find alternative routes.
